• Hello there,

We did a penetration testing in one of our wordpress sites and we have detected that the jquery version it’s vulnerable and needs to be upgraded.

Is there a way to fix this issue or it get’s fixed with the next wordpress versions?

We have WordPress 5.9.3 version this current moment.

    Thank you!

Update WordPress. WP 6.0 shipws with JQuery 3.6.0, AS DOES 5.9.3. So, the question is where did you get the4 version you’re running if you see 1.6.2. Are you using one of the jQuery-choice plugins? As far as I can see, 1.6.2 did not ship with any version. See https://plugins.twinpictures.de/wordpress-jquery-versions/

You can unenqueue jQuery and enqueue a new version. You would have to do it in a child theme. If you do it in your theme and it updates it will over write your changes. I have seen people do it because they are running an old script that isn’t compatible with newer versions of jQuery.
