Hello, we’ve have been using the Joli plugin, to create Table of Contents for our articles we post in our Knowledge Base (echo plugin) and have recently been having issues. Almost all of our already existing are still working correctly except one. For that article and any new articles we create the TOC is not working. The URL changes when you click one of the TOC headings, but the page doesn’t scroll. Using developer tools I haven’t been able to locate an error related to the TOC or Joli plugin, I am updated to the most recent version. I’m not sure how else to troubleshoot what is going on with the Joli Plugin.

Thank you for any help you can provide. – Samantha-

    Hi Samatha,

Usually when there is an odd behaviour related to the links from the TOC, the problem often comes from multiple event handlers being attached to the links.

To be more clear, often times themes or third party plugin attach their own events to each link on the page, which can result in conflicts. This is why there is a warning in the settings page about “external” smooth scrolling that can break the plugin’s feature.

Unfortunately I cannot access your page to check since the URL seems malformed but I would recommand to try to deactivate smooth scrolling from your theme or anything related to links from other plugins.

    Thank you for your reply!
The smooth scroll toggle is off. It is only impacting one existing article and not all the headings. Some work and some do not. All the rest of our published articles are working fine. Its just this one page that is having issues.
When I create a new a article the same TOC issue happens. We lost our WordPress expert at the beginning of 2023 and so I’m filling in and trying to learn as fast as possible to be able to troubleshoot things like this. We have some developers and I will try to have them sit with to troubleshoot what is going on.

    Hi,

First off, can you try to update to the latest version (v2.0.7) and see if there is any improvement ?

If not, please send the URL of the page with issues at [email protected] to have a look.

    Thank you.
