• Support notes say that:

The issue here usually is related to server-side script execution time, e.g. when BackWPup is trying to compress a particularly large file (> 100MB).

For a solution, try experimenting with your settings in _BackWPup → Settings → Tab: Job_, mainly with _maximum execution time_.

I have 0 in the Maximum script execution time setting. It says next to it that “0 means no maximum.”

    I also have PHP max_execution_time set to 3600 i.e. 60 minutes.

Why is the plugin timing out at 5 minutes then? Where is that 5 minutes defined?

  • I would like some clarification on that as well.

Regardless of what value I enter in the Jobs tab, the Information tab still displays a Maximum execution time of 120 seconds. Is that a server-side setting?

Does the “reduce server load” option help in these cases or hurt (by making the process longer)?
