Job restarts due to inactivity for 5 minutes

Did you have changed the maximum Execution time to 25 secounds in BackWPup -> Settings > Tab: Job ?

Yes I have done that already and still get that message . It hasn’t been backed up in a month because I was out of disk space. I have since fixed that and it is doing this. I am new at taking care of a website and don’t know slot about it. I took this site over from somebody that use to run it. Hope you can help.

I have the same problem!! It is so frustrating. None of mine are backing up because we have such a large backuo (ecomm store) and it keeps erroring out. I have tried every tweak and still nothing… Does anyone have a good solution? I have tried making the maximum and also taken it down to zero (as it said that will create no maximum)

Also… can someone help me understand the differences between the 4 types of backups? Maybe selecting something other than zip might fix it?

With hoster did you have?

My web hosting has always been Doteasy. It was all working fine until 6-12-2016 when i ran out of disk space and started to getting error message’s about that. That went on for over a month before i knew it was happening. Once i found out and fixed the problem, i now get this message. I don’t know if it is to big now since it is trying to back up over a month of posts and pictures or what. Hopefully you can help fix.

Just wondering if we have a solution to my problem? I haven’t heard from anybody in 6 days.

I am also having this error. I have many client’s websites that use this back up plugin. I have been very happy with it until recently. Now ALL of my client’s websites are not getting backed up because of the Job restarts errors mentioned above. I contacted my host and they said that the problem is because the back ups are hitting the resources maximum and I need to update to the next level of hosting. However, everything was fine until a couple of months ago. None of the client’s sites are any larger than they have been so I think somehow this plugin is suddenly using more resources. Can someone address this issue? I too have tried everything mentioned above to get my backups to work again. No luck with anything.

The ONLY way I could get it to run successfully was to change it to Tar GZip… since I did that it seems to be running faster and with no errors. It took me a lot of tinkering to find a solution.

Normally the problem with Job restarts due to inactivity for 5 minutes is solved, when you change the maximum script execution time as described in the docs: https://docs.backwpup.com/article/157-job-restarts-due-to-inactivity-for-more-than-5-minutes .

@christina – we have all done what you suggested with the script execution time. I do find it ironic that of course you would suggest the only other solution is to upgrade…

I am using WP 4.6.1 and BackWPup plugin version 3.3.4.

I have tried multiple times to backup the website, but keep receiving an error message that says “ERROR: Job has ended with errors in 1374 seconds. You must resolve the errors for correct execution.”

I have tried going to the plugin settings and changing the maximum script execution time to more than 20 seconds. I’ve tried both 30 seconds and 300 seconds. Neither fixed the problem. I’m not sure what else to do from here? The error message also says that I need to resolve the errors but it’s not saying what the errors actually are.

In addition to changing the maximum script execution time to 20, 30, 80, and 300 seconds, I’ve also tried disabling plugins, but nothing is working. What other possible solutions are there?? I’ve looked at other support threads about this same issue, but haven’t come across any other solutions. I’m new at WordPress and this BackWPup plugin is not very user-friendly. It is very complex and requires someone with more advanced knowledge than myself. I’ve never come across this issue before and, until now, have never really had any issues with the plugin. I’m not sure what’s different this time and what is causing the errors. Changing the maximum script execution time will only allow the backup process to take longer, but it doesn’t rid the backup of the errors. I need another solution. I’m not sure what to do from here. Please help!
