Job Manager Page Template
-
In Job Manager: Display Settings there is a link change the template setting off the Job List page, when I go to that page there is no option to change the template setting.
In other pages of my template I do have the option to change the template. Maybe because I upgraded from a previous version?

I’m not sure what’s happening here, this is just using WP’s normal page editor, I’m not doing anything funky here.
I just did a quick test and made a new page template in my theme, which showed up when editing the Job Manager page. Just to confirm, you do have some files in your theme directory with the appropriate header?
/* Template Name: My Magical Template */
Thanks Gary, you pointed me in the right direction… the header info on my css was wrong. At a certain stage I copied the css from another install after client wanted design changes… and I forgot to change the template name.. so nothing to do with Job Manager.
Any chance you could help. I have been a bit of a muppet I think!
I originally installed Job manager and put in a test job. When I went to the Job list page it still said not jobs avaiable but it did appear in the widget.
This is the muppet bit.
I have now managed to loose the Job list page and even when I unistall and reinstall it wont create a new one.
Not sure how to get a new page I create to be the one that Job Manager sees and also the original prblem of listing my jobs on it.
Hope that makes sence
HELP!
Chris
@cmsltd: Sounds like your database has got in a bit of an inconsistent state. The easiest way would be to manually delete the Job Manager data, and start again.
– Deactivate Job Manager
– Run the following queries:
DELETE FROM wp_options WHERE option_name=”jobman_options”;
DELETE FROM wp_posts WHERE post_type LIKE “jobman%”;
– Activate Job ManagerAs always, when manually editing the database, remember to take a backup before beginning, just in case. ??
Let me know how this goes.
Thanks for your post.
I am at least now back where I started with the job lists pageback on the site. (Thank you!!)
Back to the original problem of listing the jobs. I have put a test job in from dashboard but again it does not show when I go on the job list page. I am sure the reason is simple but I have checked and unchecked every box I can find and still no luck.
Again check the site to see what I mean. https://www.garforth1stop.co.uk
If I put the widget at the bottom of the sidebar and it lists the test job.

I just checked the jobs page, and it seems to be listing properly?
Whilst happier every time you post, I get more confused.
Firstly thanks again as when I went to your link it appeared on my site. However, I put test 2 in and again the same problem.
Normally I make changes in the dashboard and then visit site to see the impact. I thought perhaps that it was something to do with my cookies in IExplorer so I shut the computer down and then went to the site again but no luck.
Do I need to change something in the browser… does it take time to register on the database or is it something else?!
I will leave test 2 on for some time and then go back to the site to see if it appears.
Whilst stumped I am really grateful for your help to date and will persevere and give your program all the promotion I can.

It should update on the site immediately. Are you using an caching plugins?
Not sure.
I have looked through the list but see no descriptions that mention caching (not sure what caching is).
I have however installed and uninstalled a number of things in the quest for knowledge. I may have in the past that has left something behind but I am not sure how to check.
Most of my plugins are from the free plugin option so are there any that would have a high rating that I am likely to try?!
PS. You must hate me by now!
Caching plugins use various methods to try and reduce the load your website causes on your host – so your website can allow more visitors at once.
Could I get you to go to your plugins list, and give me a list of all the active plugins you have?
No hate involved – I’d like to get to the bottom of this as much as you. ??

Hope I have not just given anyone license to knacker my site with that cut and paste!!!
It’s unlikely any of those plugins would be causing problems.
Another thing that occurred to me, could I get you to go edit the job “test2”, and tell me what the “Display Start Date” is set to?
2010-03-01
Could I get you to change that to a date in the past?
Thats it.
Thanks so much.
So if left blank it will become active next day? Just my luck that we work on it around midnight!!!!
