    Hi all…

I have just setup WPJM for a client and they are using the frontend page to post jobs.

Under Job Category (e.g Sales / Marketing etc…) it only shows the category dropdowns i have added and any new ones have to be added via an admin on the backend.

Have I missed something here, as the client is calling me every time they add a new job in a different sector. This could occur every day. Surely a client should be able to add new categories without my help?

    All help appreciated…

    Thanks

This is the standard behavior wf WPJM. You have to add the categories in the admin panel

    Thanks @braehler

So WPJM says use the frontened to add jobs, yet the coding lends itself to forcing you to use the admin to add jobs…

    Very strange..

yes, you can add jobs via the frontend, thats what it is supposed to be. But you have to add the categories first as an admin. So during the job submission the user is able to choose the right category

    Hi,

As @braehler mentioned, yes, you need to create the categories as the site-owner. The idea is that most people wouldn’t want random people who are creating job listings to also create different random categories.

However, you could use our Job Tags add-on to let them create as many tags as their heart desires:

It’s not quite the same as categories, but maybe that will meet your needs?

    Thanks @richardmtl

Not used WPJM for a while.. I was using it with FacetWP and WP Job Manager Field Editor last year when i used it.

This is in a theme, so just thought there maybe a work around.

It would be great though if they could add categories if they were just a small boutique recrutiment agency.

    Thaks for the replies all..
