Jigoshop Checkout -> Pay Page Not Showing My Changes!!!
-
I’m this close to giving up on Jigoshop. It’s been a joke trying to dig through meaningless “solutions” that never come close to what my problems have been developing my site with this plugin. I switched from WooCommerce to THIS plugin- what a joke.
I’ve been WASTING time with BASIC tasks such as:
1. Setting the images to the right dimensions. This took days of tweaks and looking at code workarounds and I finally had to just re-upload all of them. To WooCommerce’s credit, I didn’t have to re upload a single image after setting the image dimensions or look at any code, I simply uploaded the images and they appeared exactly as I had specified from the beginning in their image settings panel.
2. WHY is it that there is no EXTENSIVE documentation for things like how the default “Checkout -> Pay” page works and what scenarios are best for using it as opposed to a regular checkout page that I would create myself. In addition, no where have I been able to find what THE DIFFERENCE between a regular Checkout page and Checkout -> Pay page is. In other words why not just “Checkout” as opposed to “Checkout->Pay”. What the heck is this page for anyway. It must be special because I CAN’T EVEN GET a sidebar to show up on the right side of the page even though its using the default template that is supposed to do just this and is doing so on every other page that uses the default template!! I haven’t been able to add ANY CONTENT to this page, for that matter. HOW DO I ADD CONTENT TO THIS PAGE??? Why are my attempts to add content to this page being ignored/thwarted?
3. Why does Jigoshop allow me to REQUIRE users to REGISTER for my site but NOT INCLUDE A basic link for customers to do this AS A DEFAULT feature on the “Checkout->Pay” page. That makes zero sense (there is no LOGIC there). Take this option away if you’re gonna half-step in providing it. You went as far as to provide a link for password recovery BECAUSE it makes sense, it is absolutely LOGICAL to provide a link for unregistered users to do just this AND A REDIRECT back to the “Checkout->Pay” page after they register, BY DEFAULT because this just makes sense too. Without these things, your checkout process for your plugin is just FLUFF! Fluff wastes my time and every user of your plugin. Unless you guys at Jigoshop are trying to keep things as ambiguous as possible to monetize your support features. Is this it? I don’t mind paying for support, what I don’t like is the sneaky way it’s handled (i.e. documentation that doesn’t seem to document much or anything meaningful, or half explained answers to plugin user’s questions) and all of the time I’ve wasted trying to complete basic tasks.
All of these time-wasters have frustrated me to no end. I don’t mind helping myself but when I run into issues finding MEANINGFUL information about BASIC tasks, I feel like my time is being wasted negligently. Please do not direct me to look for a solution in your documentation or on the Theme’s WordPress Support tab because THERE IS NO efficient way to find answers there; I’ve already wasted so much time digging through thread after thread with NO luck. I’ve been DIGGING through the “documentation” to help myself find a solution to these BASIC tasks for a WHOLE WEEK now!
A response is much appreciated. I was actually rooting for this plugin way back when Joost wrote his article. I’m so disappointed right now. Please help me get some answers. I’VE PURCHASED 2 of YOUR EXTENSIONS for this plugin and I have yet to try and figure them out because I’ve been spending so much time on small tasks and trying to figure out how to configure the plugin. PLEASE HELP ME. I can email you any information you need. I cannot provide a link to the site for OBVIOUS reasons. My site is in shambles right now because I can’t get the checkout page to do what I want it to do/look how I want it to look. I will not consider a third purchase that I NEED to make with Jigoshop until all of my questions are answered; that wouldn’t make much sense for me. After all of this, I’m still rooting for Jigoshop but so very frustrated and upset. Thank you.
