Jetpack WSOD and IP block

  • I got jetpack running on my site yesterday. However, after having my IP and that of the client blocked twice in the space of 24 hours, by the hosting firm 1and1, I am considering deactivating it.
    My first issue was a WSOD when I attempted to authorize connection to wordpress.com. This I solved by deactivating all my plugins. However since its authorisation, the site and server have been blighted by outages and slow connectivity.
    I am now locked out of my site, except through CDN, until 1and1 get my email.
    1and1 are unable to tell me why the IP blocking kicked in on me and then on my client’s IP. I suspect Jetpack is to blame – but cannot fathom why.

    Jetpack Mechanic ??

    Do you have access to the site’s server logs? It might tell us more what caused the issue in the first place. The White Screen of Death should have triggered an error in those logs, and I assume that 1and1 should be able to point you to specific actions in the logs that triggered their automated suspension process.
