I’m using the jetpack widget visibility to display a widget only on my front page. The front page is my most recent posts, and it’s paginated. The issue is that I want this to appear only on the FIRST page of paginated posts, the actual front page. However when I choose “show on front page”, it is showing on all paginated pages of my recent posts. Any ideas to keep it just on the first page?

    Jetpack Mechanic ??

I’m afraid that’s not possible right now. Widget Visibility uses WordPress’ is_front_page conditional tag to determine whether you’re on the front page or not, and does not take paginated posts into account.

That’s a good remark though; I’ve created a trac ticket about this issue, and we’ll consider making the change in a future Jetpack update.

    Thanks for the report!

    Thank you!

    Any news on this change?

I’m trying to set up a small store using the Twenty Fourteen theme and I only want my commerce menu items to show up in the right hand sidebar when visitors are on commerce related pages such as shop, checkout etc.

I’ve got it working on all the pages I want, how I want it except paginated blog posts. As soon as I click on page 2, all the widgets I want hidden appear and squash the layout.

@m6mdr The change was introduced in Jetpack 4 months ago, following @martinamartina’s request.

It seems you’d want the exact opposite behaviour. Another Jetpack user made the same request after we introduced the change.

We’ve been discussing about it here. Feel free to chime in!
