jetpack update messes up photos

    Hello.
    I am editing a daily, international online newspaper.
    We use Jetpack for the statistics and appreciate the functions. However, today we received a prompt that a Jetpack Plugin update was available.

    We updated the plugin. It restarted and reactivated fine…
    Then we were prompted to reconnect it to our wordpress.com account.
    We did that too. The result was NOT fine ??

    After reconnecting Jetpack to the wordpress.com account.

    all our photos, in all articles thoughout the entire newspaper suddenly showed in opriginal, full size… that made much of the text unreadable.

    WE solved the issue by:
    Deactivating Jetpack.. then to reactivate the plugin but NOT to reconnect it to wordpress.com

    In other words… our newspaper looks readable and normal again but we do not have any statistics any more…

    Help would be very much appreciated. I cannot believe that we are the only ones who have that issue. ??

    a) I have no idea what you mean with “Photon” module
    b) and should this issue not be fixed with an update as would be appropriate ?

    a)You need to connect and open the jetpack plugin. Scroll down to see the Photon module and click on info then you must disconnect.
    b)Yes i think that any update would be appropriate.

    I appreciate that you try to help, but I don′t understand your explanations. Unless there is an update, I really need an explanation on the level of… 1) log in to your … 2) then go to the control panel on the left side and look for XXX 3) then do this 4) then that….
    I don′t expect you to do that, I think it would be much better if

    “DEVELOPERS” with all due respect for the fact that many of them are volunteers STOP uploading PLUGINS before a PROPER BETA TEST. ( lets hope one of them reads this)

    I think on the level of IT where I am, I would have to wait for an UPDATE hoping it comes SOON.

    1) log jetpack
    2) open jetpack and find the Photon module
    3) click on info and disconnect the module
    It’s over, you have your pictures in the usual format and larger scale.
    it’s just a way for it to work before a new update jetpack

    Catfishs.. again thank you BUT as I already told you many times… I have no idea about IT… Your explanation is “beginning” to help… a little bit ??

    1) log jetpack
    WHERE HOW ?? Where is it that I can log in… how to find it… how to even GET THERE ?? In the plugins menu ? left side, right? up ? down ? What is written there ?

    2) open jetpack and find the Photon module
    OPEN how ?

    3) click on info and disconnect the module
    On what INFO ?

    It’s over, you have your pictures in the usual format and larger scale.
    it’s just a way for it to work before a new update jetpack

    @nsnbc @catfishs Thank you both for the reports! We’re looking into it, but in the meantime deactivating Photon should indeed do the trick.

    “Developers” with all due respect for the fact that many of them are volunteers stop uploading plugins before a proper beta best. ( lets hope one of them reads this)

    We do test every new update, and a group of beta testers gets the opportunity to test the Beta before we release it to the public. Unfortunately, it seems we missed something in that last update!

    For what it’s worth, I’m experiencing the same problem I think. I’m using custom image sizes on one of the sites I developed and through Jetpack 2.35 Photon properly rendered them. However, with the 2.4 update, Photon returns only the full sized image. No big deal. I just deactivated Photon for the nonce.

    have been completely messed up. As suggestion from Plugin Author, I did every trick but ended without success.
