When the latest update for Jetpack came thru a few days ago, I updated it. I didn’t use anything that was associated with Jetpack directly until yesterday. Every time I click on anything associated with Jetpack, I get you do no have sufficient permission to access this. I am logged in as an administrator so this doesn’t make sense to me. So today I tried to deactivate and reactivate the plugin to see if that would help, but now I can’t even link it back to my site without getting the access message.

  • What the bloody bleep. I cannot even log into my WordPress site because jetpack cannot connect. I am trying to log on using the Word Press sign in, and I still can’t. When Jetpack was doing its little update last week or week before…another site, my entire blogsite, disappeared. The error message came up jetpack — the only thing that came up. This is completely unacceptable. When do you think Jetpack will be done and I can get back into my dashboard. Is there anything I can do to get around jetpack?

Same thing for me…I can’t access to my wordpress/login in the admin panel since they did the update. I have this error message whenever I try to access to my website.

Warning: require_once(/home/content/p3nexnas05_data02/68/2093268/html/wp-content/plugins/jetpack/class.jetpack.php): failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /home/content/p3nexnas05_data02/68/2093268/html/wp-content/plugins/jetpack/jetpack.php on line 37

Yes, you can open your own thread instead of hijacking someone else’s. You are more likely to get an answer that way.

My problem has been solved by Bluehost restoring my site to a week ago since the issue started on the 18th. I was told I had corrupt data in my permissions files.

What I meant by logging in a different way, I had to go to the front end and hit the edit button on a page to get into my WordPress account since I was logged in, but the corrupt data was telling me I couldn’t log in.

And this version of my site has the old version of Jetpack, so I won’t be updating that one or using iThemes which is what jacked everything up in the first place.

And the jetpack saga continues. Whereas yesterday my nav bar was okay…last night see that it is “squished.” In other words, looks like someone was messing with the .em code. This is ONLY on the Home page, so I know it is nothing to do with the CSS coding in general. And…only on certain devices. But it looked squished on my son’s Alienware computer as well. As jetpack seems to be messing with my site(s) every which way…sure this can be attributable. And thought you should know jetpack.

Was finally able to get into WordPress by going through “can’t remember password,” and resetting it. (I am 100% sure I was using the correct password to begin with.)

Have to add that the Homepage nav bar does miraculously reappear as one scrolls down the page. Another clue that it has nothing to do with CSS or my developer — and probably everything to do with Jetpack.

    Howdy all,

Could you each open your own threads to help us manage each of your issues?

@julie Ealy: When starting a new thread, could you please include your site’s URL? It sounds like there’s something else at play since this is hitting on parts of WordPress that Jetpack doesn’t interface with.

@clarissawilson: Most likely, your issue was caused by the server having an hiccup during the update process (which isn’t unique to Jetpack, the same process is used for any plugin or WordPress update).

@alexe_022:: It sounds like the plugin update failed midway (server hiccup of some form). You can remove Jetpack via FTP, which your hosting provider can help you gain access to for your site. Once that has happened, you can log back into your site and reinstall Jetpack via the Plugins page on your dashboard.
