• Once updated the plugin will not activate. Just putting this out here before I start looking at the code myself …

Plugin could not be activated because it triggered a fatal error.

Parse error: syntax error, unexpected end of file, expecting function (T_FUNCTION) or const (T_CONST) in /home/cais/public_html/wp-content/plugins/jetpack/class.jetpack.php on line 5731

PS: Unable to delete via Plugins > Installed Plugins although messages imply it was deleted FTP shows it was not. Manually uninstalling and re-installing now …

PPS: Manually deleting the Jetpack folder and then using the Plugins > Add New UI to re-install appears to add the appropriate files although a message of “Installation failed: Could not copy file.” is reported and a different error message is produced when trying to re-activate ??

Manually removing (twice) and manually (force-overwrite) installing finally restored the plugin to usability … now to just go through all of the set-up processes (again).
