When I activate Speed of Light, my Jetpack Twitter and Facebook widgets stop working. When I deactivate Speed of Light, they work again. Any ideas?

    Hi,

Do you have an URL for your website? So you can take a first look at it.

    Hi,

I see a JS error, did you activate the minifation?
If yes could you try to disable the JS minification.

    I had indeed enabled minification.

When I disabled JS minification just now, it somehow messed up my CSS and my site looked crazy. When I re-enabled JS minification, my site still looked crazy and didn’t get back to normal until I deactivated the whole plugin. Not sure what’s going on with that.

    Hi,

Could you disable all the minification features, then clean all your cache?
You activate the clean cache button from the global configuration of the plugin, then clean you cache using the top button.

    Please let me know.

Ah, thanks. That helped! Disabled all minification and cleaned my cache and the page rendered correctly.

The goal is to get my site to load faster and use fewer resources, so I re-enabled the HTML and CSS minification, and confirmed it’s the JS minification that is causing the Jetpack Twitter and Facebook widget not to load.

OK thanks a lot for your feedback, so here’s some information.

    – Currently the “minification” setting does minify + group the JS/CSS/HTML files, we should add some new feature very shortly to handle that. In the next version you’ll be able to minify OR/AND group files from the configuration. Usually it’s the file group that is causing those errors.
    – The cache will be cleaned automatically after settings are saved (witch is the cause of your latest message)

Though, your website performance should be very correct even without this setting.

So finally, wait for the next version, check if you can at least activate the minification for JS ?? We may check how to handle the Jetpack feature in a future version.

    Cheers!
