• Hello, on my blog, Twitter stays stuck on an error, displaying that I should wait a while and refresh the page.

    I don’t see what I could do, as there is very few configuration options. It appears that it worked very little time (I was able to add words between tweet and timestamps, for instance) but not for the last 48 hours.

    Any idea ?

  • This twitter connection problem is extremely frustrating. If there is anyone who has been able to solve this problem, many of us would greatly appreciate it!

    Please help advise on the Twitter connection so we may all get it going. Thanks!

    I have the same issue, I use the twitter widget plugin via JetPack. I get this error message;

    Error: Twitter did not respond. Please wait a few minutes and refresh this page.

    Mine is the same at fajitarecipex.com. I dont even code my site and things go wrong all the time. Gets on my nerves at times!

    Same problem at geshultz.com. I just deleted the app. I don’t see what the big deal about JetPack is. Very frustrating.

    I had the same problem, so I switched back to the
    Twitter HTML widget
    https://twitter.com/about/resources/widgets/widget_profile

    it’s easy to copy/paste as a widget in WP

    I was getting the same message in Chrome. I cleared the cache and everything seems fine now.

    Getting the same Twitter error on my site: bedfordbeacon.com.

    I have no caching plugin installed.

    This can’t be a Twitter thing. Has to be something to do with JetPack unfortunately.

    Hopefully, it will get fixed soon.

    Hello.

    I love WordPress. I use it on all the sites I manage and even, now, on a professional one.

    And I am really surprised that we did not receive any response on this for 8 months now…

    Tweets are now appearing on my site in the Twitter widget.

    Perhaps it was a Twitter issue in my case.

    It seems like this Twitter widget was copied from a widget that was defective a couple years ago. If you google the error, it was discussed a long time ago.

    I’m with the person above who said that if it’s not going to work consistently, don’t include it in WordPress. I would add, if you’re not going to support it, don’t include it in WordPress.

    I’d tell you to go see the error at https://www.ktracy.com – but I’m taking this worthless widget offline before any of my regular visitors see the error.

    My site was experiencing the same issue and this is how I’ve resolved it…

    If you’d like to continue using Jetpack, except for the Twitter portion, try the following and see if it works for you – its been the best solution for my WP sites so far:

    first: deactivate the Twitter widget that comes with Jetpack and then activate the “Text” widget where you want your Twitter tweets to show;

    second and third: log in to your twitter account and/or go directly to their widget page (https://twitter.com/about/resources/widgets/widget_profile) – (logging in allows Twitter to immediately identify your site’s tweets and show them in the example while working on your color scheme) – choose your preferred widget style and set it up to complement your site, choosing colors and size – click on “Finish and Get Code” – then copy the entire code and paste it into the “text” widget you’ve added (in step one) into your sidebar (or whichever region) in your WP site, save and check out the live view. You should have exactly what you produced in the Twitter profile widget now displaying in your site with your most recent tweets!

    This approach (so far) has allowed the use of the other Jetpack widgets to remain intact and maintain a “live” feed from Twitter.

    Hope this helps!

    @tbw17 That was brilliant! short of pulling out my hair I was becoming an addict, sampling twitter plugins as if to cure cancer. Thanks a ton.

    @sm9449 – – so glad it helped! I know how frustrating it can be to try and make something that should be so simple happen…and not! Good luck and many happy tweeting returns
