Jetpack tiled image gallery, lots of empty space

I’ve been using the Jetpack image gallery and noticed a change in its behaviour. I’ll link two pages below to show what I mean. The photos use to be tightly arranged. Now there are big gaps between them. Any ideas on what could be causing this?

Also clicking on the empty spaces will bring up a photo, and always (so far) the same photo regardless of where I click.
