    We do indeed suggest using the $content_width theme feature in our support documentation:
    https://jetpack.me/support/tiled-galleries/#content-width

    That value won’t stop your site from being responsive, though. It will be used by all embeds on your site (galleries, but also Youtube, Vimeo, and other embeds). You can then specify a maximum width value in CSS, and the galleries and other embeds will adapt to the device’s width.

    Thanks for your reply Jeremy, this does work!

    However I was wondering how i can increase the mosaic effect with multiple image across filling the width, rather than stretching the few photos across. This would look great on a large screen, and hopefully responsively change ‘columns’ as the screen size gets smaller.

    We’ve just added a few new Gallery types to Jetpack in this changeset, and the changes will be part of Jetpack 3.5, scheduled to be released in a week or so. That should do just what you need!
