Jetpack suddenly made all images invisible which also deleted my email signature
-
I’ve been using Jetpack for about a decade and suddenly on one of my sites all of the images became invisible and this made my email signature also become invisible. The only way I was able to get everything back was by disabling and deleting Jetpack then recreating my HTML email signature again from scratch.
What prompted this issue as it only occurred today and my site was working fine with no interaction for months. I also see most of your default free options have gone premium so there really isn’t much to gain by installing Jetpack back again. I believe it may in fact have been Jetpack’s restriction of previously free features that may have caused the issue as I can no longer see the image optimisation options using the free CDN yet all my image URL’s including my logo were all still prefixed with Jetpack’s https://wp.i0.com which was all coming up as broken links.
This cost me an entire day of business in trying to diagnose the issue, and recreate my usual working environment. I’m frustrated there was no warning or email to the effect. I will no longer be installing Jetpack as I develop my numerous client websites for fear of this happening to them. Such a shame as it used to be a renowned useful tool.
