Jetpack Subscriptions Not Sending Confirmation Email

    One of my clients has been trying to sign up via the Jetpack Subscription widget and she never gets the confirmation email. I only know about this problem because she contacted me offline. I have tried to enter her address myself and yet she never gets the confirmation. We have searched her “trash” and “junk” email folders too.

    Her email address is penny**@consolidated.net. (I have substituted the last two characters of her email address for her privacy).
    Now I am worried that I am not getting new subscribers because they never get the confirmation email.

    I checked our email logs, and it appears she attempted to sign up last year, on June 29th at 11:53:25 UTC. We successfully sent her a confirmation email on that day, but she never clicked on the link in the confirmation email.

    It’s worth noting that we only send confirmation emails once at the moment, thus causing such problems when someone doesn’t click on the link in the confirmation email and then forgetting about that email.
    We want readers to be able to receive another confirmation email, but before we do so we want the option to be spam-proof, to avoid abuse from spammers who would use the subscription form on your site multiple times in a row.

    Yes, it works for both WordPress.com users and self-hosted Jetpack-powered sites.
