A professor has a site in our network that he used for spring 2013, and he would like to reuse the same site for spring 2014.

In resetting the site, he removed all of the users from the previous semester, and he is trying to start fresh.

However, he was using Jetpack’s Subscriptions feature, and he still has 45 blog followers from last semester and 2 comment followers. He would like to remove all of the followers from the previous semester before he starts publishing posts for the upcoming class.

We understand that the followers from the previous semester would have the option to click on a link and opt out once they receive the next email. However, this professor would like to avoid the confusion of, “I am no longer in your class, why are you still emailing me?”

    Jetpack Mechanic ??

Could you ask the site owner to contact us via this form, and mention this thread? I’ll be able to follow up and remove these followers from his site.

I’d like to chime in here… I had a similar request to JP support a while ago, and it was denied, telling me that users have the option to unsubscribe themselves… (ticket #1716899).

(I switched to a different subscription system and wanted to remove the remaining subscribers who did not make the switch for whatever reason.)

@alexander Could you send us a new email, and mention this thread? I’ll see what I can do.

    I will, thank you Jeremy.

I wanted to add a note to this thread that once I responded via the linked contact form in the previous message, using the same account that had connected Jetpack to WordPress.com on the professor’s site, a Happiness Engineer was able to remove the blog followers from the previous semester.

    Thanks.

    Same here. Thanks, Jeremy!
