    I have the jet pack subscription widget set up on my site and it was working fine for the first two years. Recently I was notified from some people that they were not receiving confirmation emails and I can confirm this after trying it out with another email.

    Another user told me he entered his email address and got an error message saying “there was an error when subscribing. please try again.”

    I got people to check their spam folders and I also tried disabling all other plugin. I check the debug on the jetpack page and it says my jet pack set up look so.k

    Please help me resolve this- I’d hate to know I’ve been missing on getting subscribers.

    I tried using the form on your site, and it seems to be working properly. I subscribed to your blog, and you can now see my email address in your subscriber list.

    It’s worth noting that confirmation emails are only sent once, so if you previously attempted to subscribe but never clicked on the link in the confirmation email, you won’t receive a new email if you use the subscription form again today.

    If you’d like, you can send me an email via this contact form and mention this thread, as well as a few examples of the email addresses that didn’t receive a confirmation email. I’ll be happy to take a look at our email logs to find out what happened.

    Are you saying there is some sort of timeout before a second attempt to subscribe will result in a confirmation email, or are you saying there is no second chance if the first confirmation email is lost?

    There is no timeout, and there won’t be a second chance to trigger a confirmation email.

    I realize that’s not ideal, and we’re actually working on a fix to allow folks to sign up again, and trigger a new confirmation email. Until we get that fixed, I’m afraid the only way to confirm your subscription would be to go to the Subscriptions page on WordPress.com and validate your pending subscription there.

    Thanks Jeremy, but it’s a bit of a catch-22: my subscribers are mostly elderly and not computer-comfortable, and having lost the confirmation email my average user will not know how to get to the subscription page. I don’t even know which ones tried to subscribe, so I can’t help individuals.
