• The star rating is just the latest update in (statistics and payment for visits) and to attract attention to the issue, perhaps the managers will reconsider the prices offered, and I hope so

Since 2016, I’ve used Jetpack Stats because it was easy and gave me the insight I needed about the site. But the latest update removed the usefulness of this Plugin for my site and unfortunately made it useless, not because of making statistics paid, but because of the way Jetpack deals with sites and how they pay.

I will give an example to see if it makes sense for me to use this Plugin at the suggested price.

I have a website that gets between 1 and 3 million monthly visits in the Middle East, and most of the visitors are Arabs. I have Google AdSense ads on the site, and my site is considered commercial, although it is an educational site that only contains Google ads to cover the expenses of running it and motivate me to update the content regularly.

Surprisingly, Jetpack is asking me to subscribe for $58.34 per million visits, paying annually, or up to $90 if paying monthly.

Let’s see how much I make from my site to pay that much for statistics.

Everyone knows that Google AdSense profits are small in Middle East , as the profits per month per million visits range from 150 to 250 dollars only, because my visitors are from the Middle East region, most of whom are Arabs. The profit on other sites may be higher…but the idea is that just because you have AdSense ads, you are commercial siteis is Wrong or there must be justice. Not all sites get very high profits, and no one with Google AdSense accepts paying $58 per million visits just for statistics.

    • Is it reasonable for me to give 30% of the site’s profits to Jetpack statistics, and I have many other paid Plugin, server, backup, and other monthly expenses to provide a distinctive experience for the visitor?

I don’t mind paying for Jetpack stats, but not with this system (paying for a certain number of visits).

For me, paying $200 to $250 a year for Jetpack statistics is acceptable with not limited to a certain number of visits, as I do now with Cloudflare where I pay $240 a year for very premium services.

I have now moved to matomo. It is good and I will used to it in the future.. but my 9-year experience with Jetpack was special and it seems that it has ended unfortunately.

Thank you for the previous years and for the beautiful statistics. I hope to see appropriate changes in the price in the future to return to Jetpack

    With respect and appreciation

  • Hi @aaxaa,

Thank you very much for the detailed report about how the recent stats price changes are affecting how you manage your website. We have strived to create a pricing model which makes sense for the market and most of our users, but recognize that there will be cases like yours which don’t fit inside that model.

If you ever decided that the revenue from your ads was less important to you than the Jetpack Stats experience, you could remove the ads from your site and return to using Jetpack Stats for free.

We will always continue to analyze our prices and customer needs, and your feedback willl be part of that conversation.

    Thank you again.

Thank you for responding and commenting on my opinion, and I hope you do not lose more customers, especially since there is an increase in negative reviews. If this indicates anything, it is that something wrong is happening.

It is not possible to remove ads from my site because I need continuous money to pay for the costs of the site, and the statistics are something secondary that can be dispensed with, despite the presence of other alternatives. A week ago, I used Matomo On-Premise, which provides a lot of information about statistics, and all of it is stored on another server that I own. Its monthly costs are only 10 dollars – More than 500,000 visits have been recorded, and I see that you are making it an alternative and a strong competitor.

Thank you, have a nice day
