    Hi,

I have noticed a drop in website stats since Wednesday last week on our website.

I think there is a problem with the reporting on Jetpack since the numbers are low on Jetpack but on WordPress, posts view they are more.

Please check if there is a problem with the connection.

    Hi @smartkenyan

I am not seeing an issue with the connection between Jetpack and your site.

It does look like you had more visits than is typical during the week of June 14 and June 21, which may be accounting for the difference that you are seeing.

That said, could you clarify what you mean when you say that you see a difference between Jetpack and WordPress? Do you mean that the stats are different in Jetpack on your self-hosted website than they are when you view the same stats on WordPress.com?

If instead, you are comparing the Jetpack Stats to another tool, please note that different tools collect information differently and different stat tracking methods will rarely, if ever, be in sync. You may find it worthwhile to use tracking data from a variety of stats systems to develop a broad picture of your visitors’ behavior.

    Hi Bob,

    Thanks for the feedback.

What I mean is the difference is huge on Jetpack and the view count under All posts on WP. The theme view counter is from the Theme (JNews). Which we believe is accurate.

Somehow JetPack is not capturing all the views and displays a very low number.

See the difference in the images in the links.

    Hello, there.

As Bob mentioned, Jetpack stats pull and display information in different ways than other products such as Google Analytics or the theme view counter you’re seeing, so stats not matching up with another product or site’s analysis is totally normal.

We have more info specifically about how Jetpack collects stats here: https://jetpack.com/support/wordpress-com-stats/

In other words, this is to be expected – you can use which analytics you find the most beneficial, or compare different sources to get a bigger picture of your traffic.

I do see that your Jetpack stats are currently recording and there have been no gaps in collecting them – Your overall connection to Jetpack is solid:
