• Recently one site performance, for lack of a better word, died, and deactivating jetpack fixed in.

Specifically, my admin login suddenly took longer and longer.

I have collected my admin logins in a Chrome favorites menu. A single middle-button mouse click will open them in individual tabs. I rotate through the tabs to open each site, then go to the updates tab in each site in rotation, upgrade if necessary, then log out. I was still waiting to log into the one site where I’ve installed jetpack by the time I was logging out of all the other sites.

( It’s a daily ritual that usually takes only a few minutes. )

That site’s performance is back on par with my other sites since I deactivated Jetpack. Don’t know what changed earlier this month, and I don’t know why deactivating jebpack fixed it now…

    Just sayin’ & sharin’

PS: I installed Jetpack a couple years ago (and kept it updated in rotation). I don’t remember why. Now I have to review each page to see if anything else is visibly affected. Bummer.

    Thanks for the follow-up.

My site was degraded, and now it’s better. Not sure I want to risk degrading it, again…

    Thanks for your reply.

I see, that’s up to you. Please let us know if you need any other help in using Jetpack in the future.
