Jetpack Setup Error – “An error occurred. Please try again.”

As the title states, I am having problems installing Jetpack on a WordPress Multisite setup. I am installing as the root website and leaving Jetpack available to be utilized by each individual site hosted.
When clicking on “Set up Jetpack”, I am receiving the “An error occurred. Please try again.” I have already removed the plugin, and then reinstalled the plugin, no change.
I have looked at the following article and performed Step 5 – which passed without issue:
