Overall, I like Jetpack and would like to be able to use it. However, I have several posts where I’ve added multiple images with captions and when I turn on Jetpack, my formatting is ruined.

    Example of post

    * I have currently shut OFF Jetpack because of these issues*

If I have 2 images side by side that I have CSS set to make them appear equally; its gone and the page is jumbled.

If there are comments on the post; it messes with formatting and pushes my images around.

I shut off all of my plug-ins and found this was the source of my problem. I would really like to know if anyone can advise of how to get around this. Otherwise, I hope that it could be resolved in an update.

    Jetpack Mechanic ??

Could you make screenshots of the images as they appear when Jetpack is on? You can post these screenshots here through a service like https://snag.gy/

Could you also try to enable Jetpack, and then deactivate the Photon module? You can follow the instructions here to learn how to deactivate a Jetpack module:
    https://jetpack.me/support/activate-and-deactivate-modules/

I would also like to know how you inserted the images into the posts in the first place? I see multiple div containers around each image, and around the captions. Did you use a plugin to create this formatting?
What happens when you remove this custom formatting and use WordPress’ core image formatting options instead?

Ok – I think we have figured it out, but here are the answers to all of your questions for reference:

Here are screenshots with Jetpack and Photon turned on:
    Sample of Comments
    Sample of Photos

When I turned Photon off, that seems to take care of the mess that the image above shows. I had been using it to try and help the load on my site. Guessing there is a conflict somewhere? Didn’t expect a photo part of the plugin to be causing the issue…

The formatting is WordPress Bakery/Visual Composer. I don’t use it on every post/page. However, for formatting side-by-side images as on this post, it makes things easier and faster. I also use the design capabilities for my home page.

If I shut off Visual Composer, the post has a jumble of text for coding the formatting in the image sections (ex. [vc_column] [vc_row] ). I also lose all of the design capabilities on my home page.

The formatting is WordPress Bakery/Visual Composer.

Visual Composer seems to be cropping and resizing your pictures to fit the columns and rows you’ve created. You end up with a nice display, and this 300x400px image in our example.

Photon, on the other hand, starts from the original 640x480px image and resizes it without cropping it. That’s problematic in your case, since Visual Composer expects a specific crop instead.

I’m afraid you’ll have to leave Photon off for as long as you use Visual Composer; both features do not seem to be really compatible.

Ok – a minor concession to make things work. Thanks for the help.
