Jetpack register_http_request_failed

  • The full error reads as follows:

    Jetpack could not contact WordPress.com: register_http_request_failed. This usually means something is incorrectly configured on your web host. Couldn’t resolve host ‘jetpack.wordpress.com’

    I am the host, so I can check with the my host. But what would I ask the host? I don’t have a firewall running (although, I’d have to check to be certain). Could this be a DNS problem?

    I found one solution involving I’ve not tested recommending adding certificates, but I’m wary of trusting a lot sites.
