Jetpack Publish sends Drafts to Facebook/Twitter via OpenGraph

I tried to reproduce the issue on my end, but no luck.

In fact, WordPress itself has different rules in place that should avoid any issues:

1. Your posts aren’t publicly available until you publish them, so Facebook doesn’t know about them.
2. Since the preview post URL is different from the final post URL, Facebook cannot connect the 2. Even if it were to crawl the preview URL and get an error (because it can’t access any data for that post), that error wouldn’t matter when Facebook crawls the final post URL later on, since the 2 URLs are different.
3. In Jetpack, we do not display any sharing buttons on drafts, to make sure no author clicks on them by mistake, thus requesting that Facebook crawls a URL for a post that doesn’t exist yet.

Could you give me more details about the errors you experienced, so I could try to reproduce? Could you also post your site URL here, as well as a few examples of posts where you experienced issues?

After a little bit of testing it actually doesn’t seem to be a Jetpack issue, though I don’t know what else it can be. I tried IFTTT now and the same problem comes up. Anyway, maybe you can still figure out what’s wrong. The issue came literaly out of nothing.

Note that this one was posted via IFTTT, all the others before that one are published by jetpack and manually fixed with Facebooks Tool. https://developers.facebook.com/tools/debug/

Yoast SEO also created an article:published_time OG tag for that post, so it must have been published:

If you don’t recall publishing it, I’d suggest checking the different plugins and services enable for your site, and making sure no service is currently changing the post status of your articles for you.
