A clue, perhaps: I am now auto-posting through HootSuite any new posts. This results in the same problem. Perhaps this is an overall WordPress compatibility with Facebook issue?

I think your problem is in your theme markup. Try switching to a default theme and let us know if it works.

Do you have the same issue when you use google+?

I did try that already, Boris. It didn’t make any difference whatsoever. Any other ideas?

And yes, it doesn’t work on G+ either.

I am having the same issue. The only work around I have found is pasting the link in the subject and manually selecting the image I want on facebook.

tinuviel: The problem with the images, I believe, is that the og:image tag generated by Jetpack and used by Facebook is somwhoe being generated as an if.tt link, such as: https://ift.tt/PXFOyp

I think Facebook has trouble with those, even though it shows fine here: https://developers.facebook.com/tools/debug/og/object?q=http%3A%2F%2Findiefashionlove.com%2F2014%2F04%2F26%2Fmurmuration-faux-leather-leggings-metallic-black-spandex-soft-goth-grunge-street-style-fashion-for-women-small-murmuration%2F

I suspect that because it takes a couple of extra seconds for it to fecth the image from that short URL, that it defaults to the Logo instead. Would you know where that shortlink is coming from?

As for the permalinks, which plugin are you using exactly? Other users have had trouble with Bitly as well, so I want to check on that for you.

Richard is the the same issue with Google +.

At least facebook there is a work around of just posting the link directly and choosing the picture. Google plus always defaults to my banner.

Hi Richard, okay, so I’m using the service IFTTT to auto-post any new Favourites I add to my account on Etsy, to a new, draft, WordPress blog. I then use WP to auto-publish new published posts to Facebook.

I see what you mean about the link to the image. That’s probably what’s happening – which is very unfortunate.

Throughout this, I’ve been wondering if there’s some way to auto-upload remotely linked images to WordPress posts I create through external services, without having to go in and manually upload the image myself before publishing.

Also, I find it strange that when I first started using IFTTT in combination with WordPress + Jetpack to auto-post to Facebook, the images showed up as a thumbnail every time.

@tinuviel: could you give me a link to posts on that new site, then, so I can take a look?
