I have Jetpack Publicize connected to Facebook. It was working for a while, and then it stopped posting to Facebook a few days ago.

If I create a new post, the publicize option is there, but it doesn’t successfully share the post on Facebook.

On the Sharing page it shows Facebook as connected. And if I click the ‘X’ to disconnect, it fails. Instead I see: “You have successfully connected your blog with your Facebook account.” ever after I clicked the disconnect option.

I’m pretty lost on how to troubleshoot this. Is the connection stored in the database? And I can delete it manually?

    Jetpack Mechanic ??

Could you try to reset the connection to Facebook, as explained here:
    https://jetpack.me/support/publicize/#reconnecting-facebook

If clicking on the ‘X’ fails to disconnect, could you try to completely disable the Publicize module, as explained here:

So I deactivated the Publicize module in the jetpack settings. And confirmed it was deactivated. And then I reactivate it. And bam, the Facebook connection is back again there and still says that it is connected.

Where is the underlying connection stored? MySQL? Can I manually delete this since the UI seems incapable of deleting it?

This connection is stored on WordPress.com. I have tried to reproduce your issue on my own blog, but I was always able to remove the connection by clicking on the ‘X’ symbol.

Could you post your site URL, so I can have a look at your site options?

So I was not able to remove the old connection, but I was able to add a new connection, and there I added the same account again. This seemed to overwrite the broken old connection and get everything back working again. After this it seems to be reconnected. I just tried deleting the connection, and it worked. And I was able to re-add it successfully also.

So I’m not quite sure how we ended up in that weird state where it was disconnected and I couldn’t delete the connection. But I can’t reproduce it right now, so I think we should hope it was a weird race condition or something and won’t happen again.

Thanks for your help. I’ll mark this as resolved.

Well I’m glad to hear you’re all set. Do not hesitate to drop me an email if it happens again, I’ll be happy to have a look!

Hi Jeremy I am having the same issue as ecarmi was but neither your nor his solutions worked for me.

On the Sharing page it shows Facebook/twitter/linkedin as connected. And if I click the ‘X’ to disconnect, it fails. Instead I see: “You have successfully connected your blog with your Facebook/twitter/linkedin account.” ever after I clicked the disconnect option.

What is different for me is I originally created this blog on a staging domain and once I was happy with it I cloned it and moved it to its current domain. I think the mistake I made was I created the social sites connections while on the staging domain… so what happens to me is when I try to create a new connection like ecarmi did it then takes me to the old staging domain site… on this old site I am able to successfully add or remove connections…

    Please advise… thanks so much

@bpac Could you create a new thread about your issue, and let me know your site URL so I can have a look?

I am having the same issues as “bpac”, my facebook is pointing to my free blog account and not the new domain.com site. How do I fix this, anyone?
    thx.
    Lisa

Lisa – per Jeremy’s post, you need to start a new thread for help with your issue. This thread is marked resolved.

You can start a new thread on this forum here:

    New thread started. thanks

Hello. Hopefully someone here can help me out. I used to have a personal facebook page, and recently ‘converted it’ to a page. So now – it’s page.

When it was a personal account – Jetpack Publicize worked fine.
    Now that it’s a page – I don’t see the post.

I removed disconnected from Facebook, then reconnected with Pubilcize.

I see this option within Facebook:
WordPress.com may login as any of your 3 Pages, including:
    mypage1
    mypage2
    mypage3

However – when I look at the settings within WordPress(Jetpack, Publicize, Configure), I see my Facebook name(shared).

If I remove and reconnect, it says:
Publicize to my Facebook wall (As my username).
Publicize to my Facebook page (and nothing shows after this. I don’t see mypage1, 2 or 3.

Can someone please help tell me how to publicize to a page? I feel like I am so close -but the option is not showing up.

    Thank you!!!

PS – my wall is no longer. Again – I converted to a page.

@no1solofan Other Jetpack users reported this issue, and we’re looking into it at the moment. Thanks for the report!

See this trac ticket for more information:

Any ETA on approximate fix? I thought I was going crazy at first not seeing the options as intended. Thank you! `(:

    Jetpack Mechanic ??

We’ve just released a new version of Jetpack, 2.3.2, including a fix for this problem.

You can go ahead and update the plugin as soon as you get a notification in your dashboard!

It started working today with the latest update 2.3.4, let’s see how long this lasts.
