    L.S.

Recently i activated the jetpack portfolio option. Predominantly to be able to use the shortcode on any which page i prefer. So far no problem.

Jet, my website already has a portfolio parent page which i like to prevail because of seo reasons. The slug is ‘tuinwerk-portfolio’.

The problem is in the breadcrumbs: if one clicks on ‘projects’ they`ll be redirected to the jetpack portfolio parent page, which is an archive. Pretty much empty and shouldnt be shown to public.

Now.. the jetpack portfolio taxonomies can be modified. Setting the jetpack url-slug from ‘portfolio’ to ‘tuinwerk-portfolio’ overrides the original page. Secondly the individual projects obviously wont load anymore because of 404.

At first i edited the htaccess, which at first glance, worked like a charm. Until it didnt anymore all of a sudden.

I could use an add_filter in the functions to change the breadcrumb. But preferably i want all projects to be a child of the already existing ‘tuinwerk-portfolio’ page. So to have an integrated structure..

    Who can help ?

    Hi @destmedia

Unfortunately, this level of customization is beyond what we can assist with per our scope of support.

I’ll leave this thread open for a week in case someone from the community is able to provide assistance and a solution for this.

Well. For now i have two options:

Either i add a filter to the jetpack_breadcrumbs function.

Or i`ll have to find where the jetpack portfolio takes the archive.php and change that into my desired existing page. I guess it uses the archive.php just because of the way wordpress is structured ?

The latter one might cause a seo penalty..

    That sounds like a plan.

If I understood your issue correctly, what could work to resolve it is creating a redirect rule (you can use a redirection plugin for that purpose) that redirects the “projects” page to another custom page of your choosing instead of the portfolio parent archive page.
