jetpack oauth authorization failing

I have the same problem. Steps I took:

1. I installed WordPress 3.9.1 – no content, no customization.
2. I installed Jetpack 3.0.2 and connected it to WordPress.com
3. As described here: https://developer.wordpress.com/docs/oauth2/ I used URL https://public-api.wordpress.com/oauth2/authorize?client_id=MY_client_id&redirect_uri=MY_url&response_type=code to generate OAuth2 code.
4. After redirect to my site I logged in succesfully and saw this:
“Someone may be trying to trick you into giving them access to your site. Or it could be you just encountered a bug :). Either way, please close this window.”

I am using users that have all possible privileges both at WordPress.com and my site. I already sent all those details via https://developer.wordpress.com/contact/, is there anything else I can do?

Any suggestions are highly appreciated ??

I appear to have a similar problem. The API and my client app have been working fine for me until very recently. Now I get the following message when the redirect should be taking place:
“Someone may be trying to trick you into giving them access to your site. Or it could be you just encountered a bug :). Either way, please close this window.”

Any thoughts or progress with this one?

This is what I sent:

I’m using 3.0.2 of Jetpack.

I have a client app that has been making use of the Jetpack JSON API for quite a while – without problem.
But very recently when I try and authorize a client I get an error reporting:
“Someone may be trying to trick you into giving them access to your site. Or it could be you just encountered a bug :). Either way, please close this window.”

My client app authorizes just fine against a wordpress.com blog, but not against a self-hosted one using the Jetpack JSON API.

My initial findings point to a problem in Jetpack 3.0.2.

I removed Jetpack 3.0.2 and installed 3.0.1. My client app can authorize correctly against my site now.

Obviously this is not ideal, as people using my app against their own sites will likely have an up to date version of Jetpack. But hopefully finding should help in tracking down the problem in 3.0.2.

A developer today got in touch and a patch they provided me appears to have fixed the OAuth authentication (redirect) problem in Jetpack 3.0.2.
Hopefully they will release it publicly soon (they indicated in the next week or so).

Yep, it should be released next week if we don’t find bugs in the Beta.
