• Hi,

Yesterday I upgraded the OS version on my VPS, during which I also moved from PHP5.6 to PHP7.

My WordPress site is up and running, I can log in etc but Jetpack will not connect. Jetpack is installed and activated but when I attempt to connect I get the error:

Your website needs to be publicly accessible to use Jetpack: site_inaccessible
Error Details: The Jetpack server was unable to communicate with your site [HTTP 500]. Ask your web host if they allow connections from WordPress.com.

The site is accessible (tinyhordes.com) so I’m confused by this error.

  • I’m getting the same error – the site works fine but I can’t activate the Jetpack plugin. I’m on the latest WP version and using Jetpack 4.1.1.
