    Hello,
I received emails from Jetpack monitor for all three of my sites that said:
Your site is responding intermittently, or extremely slowly.

I checked out my logs and found that all jetmon user agents had a server response of 200, and I also noticed that they were all from a single IP address(192.0.102.40)

    I was wondering:
1)If all the server responses were a 200 does that simply indicate the server was bogged down/slow? I was expecting something other than 200 for the time frames my sites were down.
2)Why wasn’t it trying to access my site from other IP addresses before sending me an email? Based on https://jetpack.com/support/monitor/#process it should have tried to access from other servers which should show as different IP addresses in my logs for the user agent “jetmon”
    Thanks
    Clint

  • Hi,

Based on the info you provided, this does not mean your site down, it means your site is not responding well enough.

    This explains in detail
https://jetpack.com/support/monitor/#site-down – “Is your site up and running properly, but you’re receiving ‘site down’ notifications?”

2)Why wasn’t it trying to access my site from other IP addresses before sending me an email? Based on https://jetpack.com/support/monitor/#process it should have tried to access from other servers which should show as different IP addresses in my logs for the user agent “jetmon”

Because your site is not down. If you read this closer, we will locate other servers “if the HTTP response code is 400 or greater.”

I think that does make sense here when your site is still responding 200.

In your previous response you state:
Based on the info you provided, this does not mean your site down, it means your site is not responding well enough

When you reference “not responding well enough”, does that essentially mean a connection was established with the server and the initial head request was received by the server, but jetpack monitor had to wait to long for a response from the server?

I was also wondering, do the times in jetpack monitor emails represent the timezone setup in WordPress, or on my server?

In the future, is there any chance Jetpack Monitor could include the actual HTTP response code in the notification emails?

    Thanks again for your help,
    Clint

I believe Dat meant that your site was responding slowly.

Jetpack uses the timezone used by your WordPress site.

In the future, is there any chance Jetpack Monitor could include the actual HTTP response code in the notification emails?

We will consider your request in future updates to the plugin, and thank you for your feedback.
