Jetpack is causing fatal error after automatic update

    I have automatic updates enabled for the Jetpack plugin, however, today when I woke up, I came across the wordpress white screen message accusing Fatal Error.

    The file /home/bzoshyqv/public_html/wp-content/plugins/jetpack/jetpack_vendor/automattic/jetpack-waf/rules/rules.php does not exist on my site.

    I was able to access my site only through the maintenance mode with the email that WordPress sends.

    I resumed access to my site after deactivating the plugin.

    Same here!
    I had to contact hosting support to disable the plugin and they sent me a similar error.

    It’s a temporary solution but you can delete the “rules” directory in jetpack/jetpack_vendor/automattic/jetpack-waf/ which should fix the issue. The folder doesn’t exist in any other version and the file inside the rules directory is calling for files that don’t exist

    Hi @hareon,

    Sorry for the inconvenience there. We are aware of the issue and working on a point release (11.5.1) to fix it. It should be out in the next 24 hours.

    In the meantime, removing and re-installing Jetpack 11.5 or deactivating and reactivating the WAF module via WP CLI, as @r33c3 hints at, will fix the issue. There’s more information about this here as @lukefiretoss has shared.

    Hello,
    yesterday I had that fatal error. I removed jetpack with filezila and reinstalled it. It worked until the WordPress update this morning. It crashed with that update and I had to remove jetpack again with filezila and reinstalled It.
    Question : i’m at home with the computer so i can use filezila. What can I do if i have only the Android phone ? No more access to Website or admin so i need an access to the jetpack folder of the Website to delete It.
