• I’ve been a Jetpack user for 12 years, as a plugin for our local news website. But for about a year now, we’re developping solutions in order to get rid of it.

Why ? Because many features are being implemented without any choice of the webmaster, adding unecessary menus and options here and there, wether you decide to pay for this particular service or not.

Overall, Jetpack is being more and more transformed into another publishing product than WordPress, some sort of “super wordpress”, but with growing subscription fees year after year. It is bothering since Automattic is developping both Jetpack and WordPress, raising serious questions about the future of WordPress development.

    Hey @pif,

Thanks for sharing your concerns about Jetpack. Please note Jetpack has always evolved over the years.

That said, I’m curious as to which specific features are you referring to with your to feedback. I would love to share that feedback with the product team for future iterations.

Look forward to hearing from you.

It’s everywhere ! Because Jetpack is everywhere but one exemple : the newsletter powered by Jetpack. Even if we don’t use it, and that all settings under Jetpack config are “off”, there still are Jetpack newsletters submenus in articles, publish, etc. creating confusion amongst our writers. Same for “subscribe”, “likes”, etc.

It would very very very be neat if no specifically accepted Jetpack feature would not show at all in any production pages (like articles (post.php) mostly).

No features should appear or be visible if they’re not toggle on from the features settings. We’d liek to investigate on that in case you have something not properly set up, or if you spotted a UX glitch!
