Jetpack is becoming over rated
-
I’ve been a Jetpack user for 12 years, as a plugin for our local news website. But for about a year now, we’re developping solutions in order to get rid of it.
Why ? Because many features are being implemented without any choice of the webmaster, adding unecessary menus and options here and there, wether you decide to pay for this particular service or not.
Overall, Jetpack is being more and more transformed into another publishing product than WordPress, some sort of “super wordpress”, but with growing subscription fees year after year. It is bothering since Automattic is developping both Jetpack and WordPress, raising serious questions about the future of WordPress development.
