Even though JetPack had been working fine for some time just today it brought down my site twice. I have deleted the plugin. I have been adding and removing plugins experimenting with different issues and I don’t have a detailed log but something isn’t getting along now. I have deleted the plugin pending some analysis

The messages I most recently got from JetPack were:

Warning: require_once(/home4/xxxxxx/public_html/wp-content/plugins/jetpack/class.jetpack.php): failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /home4/xxxxxx/public_html/wp-content/plugins/jetpack/load-jetpack.php on line 41

Fatal error: require_once(): Failed opening required ‘/home4/xxxxxx/public_html/wp-content/plugins/jetpack/class.jetpack.php’ (include_path=’.:/opt/cpanel/ea-php74/root/usr/share/pear’) in /home4/xxxxxx/public_html/wp-content/plugins/jetpack/load-jetpack.php on line 41

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

    Jetpack Mechanic ??

    I have good news!

Bluehost found out which of their internal scans was removing the file, and fixed it. The problem should now be solved.

You should be able to re-install Jetpack now, the file should not get removed again.

Note: If you had only deactivated Jetpack via WordPress’ recovery mode, you’ll want to delete the plugin, and then re-install it from scratch.

If any of you still experience issues with a fresh installation of Jetpack, let us know!

thanks for the update @jeherve. if we delete the plugin all together and reinstall will it keep settings that are dependent on that plugin?

If you delete the Jetpack folder via FTP, settings will not be cleared.

If you delete it from the Plugins page in WP-Admin, database settings are cleared. But those are included with the cached copy of your site on WordPress.com, so once you reconnect Jetpack, those should be restored automatically.

    thank you @kokkieh
