Jetpack forced logout: “session expired”
-
Everytime I go to my homepage, I get jettisoned from WordPress with the error message: “Your session has expired. Please log in to continue where you left off.” If I disable Jetpack, the problem goes away.
What the heck is logging me out?? Driving me crazy…
-
Same thing happening to me again. IT resolved for about a week but now happening again and then says something about enabling cookies for wordpress but my browser has cookies enabled already.
I have cookies enabled as well. Visiting the homepage after having been on a post is what boots me out.
Could you try to flush your browser’s cookies?
If that doesn’t help, could you let me know what other plugins are currently active on your site, so I can try to reproduce the issue?
Thanks!
Hi Jeremy,
Flushed cookies but didn’t help. See all plugins below.
Thanks

Select Yoast SEO
Yoast SEOCould you try to deactivate Jetpack’s SSO module, under Jetpack > Settings > Security, and let me know if it helps?
Tried that and hasn’t seemed to help.
That’s odd. I can’t think of any other Jetpack module that may cause those issues, since SSO is the only plugin having an impact on the login cookies.
Could you try to deactivate all the other modules, one at a time, and let me know if you find a conflict?
Thanks!
I have disabled them all now and it seems that it’s the “protect” module that’s causing the issue. When I disabled that one then I seem to be staying logged in.
Thanks for the info, nikkist.
My problem was solved when my blog was moved from http to an https server.
@nikkist Thanks for giving it a try. Can you please use Jetpack’s Debugger module to send us some more information about your site?
- Go to the Jetpack page in your dashboard.
- Click on the Debug link appearing at the bottom of the page.
- Click the link that says “click here to contact Jetpack support.”
- Fill in the description box and your name and email address.
- Click the “Contact Support” button to send us the debug results privately. It’s best not to post this information on public forums, as it contains private details about your site.
Thanks!
