• Hello. I recently noticed that Jetpack no longer seems to be installed on my website. I did not do anything to remove it and am not sure how this happened. Could someone please help me to get it back? Thanks!

  • Hi tjarnogirl

Can you supply more details please?

Is Jetpack listed when you visit this address?

Hi and thanks for your response. Jetpack is not listed there now, but I know I used to have it. I’m not sure what other details would be helpful . . . I use go daddy for my hosting and domain and use a WordPress theme called “Parker”. Please let me know what else would be helpful to know to get this fixed. Thanks again!

What happens if you try to install Jetpack from plugins->add new?

I just tried and it says “Installation failed: Destination folder already exists.” Uggh . . .

Sounds like an farkled update. Via FTP or from your hosting control panel, delete the directory wp-content/plugins/jetpack, then reinstall Jetpack.

Hi there. Thanks for your response, but I’m not sure how where to find the directory you mentioned (or any directory, for that matter) and I don’t know what FTP is. A friend (who is now MIA, or I’d be bugging her!) set my website up for me, and I’m not super tech savy. When I log into my website, the menu to the left lists various things like posts, media, pages, godaddy, etc. Which of these would I find the directory listed under? I don’t see jetpack listed when I click on plugins.

Login to your hosting cpanel account, NOT wordpress. Find the file manager app, and delete that directory.
