  • Hi @slservice33 ,

When you add a contact into Jetpack CRM, it’s just an entry in the CRM. They are not automatically a WordPress user and will not be able to log into your site.

You can create a WordPress user for them automatically or via the contacts screen in Jetpack CRM so that they can log in and view their client portal.

Jetpack CRM contacts do not have a password as they are not WordPress users.

    Hope this clarifies the difference.

@dericleeyy said “You can create a WordPress user for them automatically…” How is this done?

“or via the contacts screen in Jetpack CRM so that they can log in and view their client portal.” 2 part question to this reply–
    1) How can you create a WordPress user from the Jetpack CRM contact screen?
    2) When you say “client portal”, are you talking about the WordPress client portal or the Jetpack CRM client portal?

    Thanks!

Hi, thank you I see it now.

Users logging in to wordpress is not the same as logging in to jetpack CRM Client Portal and there is a different password.

    – If a customer logs into wordpress and changes their address does that sync to Jetpack CRM ?

    – And if a customer logs into Jetpack CRM and changes address does that sync to WordPress ?

    Thanks

    Hi @slservice33,

Users logging in to wordpress is not the same as logging in to jetpack CRM Client Portal and there is a different password.

Actually, Jetpack CRM Client Portal works by storing a link between a CRM contact and a WordPress user. In order to use the Client Portal feature, you have to create a WordPress user for corresponding Jetpack CRM contact.

To do this, you can either manually create the WordPress user from CRM contact view, or configure your Client Portal settings to automatically generate WordPress users.

    @farallon5,

    1) How can you create a WordPress user from the Jetpack CRM contact screen?

You can follow our knowledgebase article here:

    https://kb.jetpackcrm.com/knowledge-base/how-does-the-client-portal-work/
    https://kb.jetpackcrm.com/knowledge-base/automatically-create-wordpress-users-but-not-send-them-a-welcome-email/

    2) When you say “client portal”, are you talking about the WordPress client portal or the Jetpack CRM client portal?

We are talking about Jetpack CRM Client Portal: https://jetpackcrm.com/feature/client-portal/.

Please note that Jetpack CRM Client Portal leverages WordPress User accounts, as explained above. Jetpack CRM Client Portal adds a front-end portal for your contacts to access key data linked to your CRM. This means they can log in with their WordPress account (linked to the corresponding Jetpack CRM Contacts info), update details, view (and pay) invoices, accept quotes and more, directly on your site.

I hope that clears things up for you both!

    Hi great thank you.

So in WordPress Users Jetpack CRM has assigned all my users with the role “jetpack CRM Customer”

Please can you tell me what the difference is between wordpress user Role: Jetpack CRM Customer and WP Role: Customer ?

    Thank you

    Hi @slservice33

Please can you tell me what the difference is between wordpress user Role: Jetpack CRM Customer and WP Role: Customer ?

I’m not sure if I understood your questions. Could you please let me know where do you see the “WP Role: Customer”? If you can, please share a screenshot using https://snipboard.io/.

As per www.remarpro.com documentation WordPress has six pre-defined roles: Super Admin, Administrator, Editor, Author, Contributor and Subscriber.

Regarding Jetpack CRM Customer role, this role is not normally manually assigned. The system assigns this role to CRM Contacts so that they can access the Client Portal.

    Very interesting thanks.

I’m guessing the “customer” role comes from woocommerce and the Jetpack CRM Customer is because I changed Jetpack CRM default from the default “Lead” to Customer.

My conclusion is Jetpack CRM would be better if it worked directly with the WordPress User Database rather than creating its own parallel customer database (which syncs some / most data and this is not fully detailed)

    Thanks for your help (:
