Jetpack counting my admin visits even though settings are correct

  • Hi, I know this has been discussed before but the subject is closed. It seems that Jetpack is counting my own admin visits. I have been working on my website and suddenly the number of views was hugely inflated. I was logged in as admin so was expecting it to automatically disregard those views and visits, especially as I checked my settings in Site Stats > Configure and none of the user roles are ticked to view. Is there something else I’m missing? Many thanks

    This may happen if you use a caching plugin that also serves cached versions of your pages to logged in users.

    Do you use a caching plugin on your site? If so, could you check its settings and make sure no option is checked to include logged in visitors in cached pages? Once that’s done, you’ll want to flush your site’s cache.

    Hi Jeremy, thank you for your quick response. But unfortunately no, I don’t have a cache plugin on my website at all and in fact my host disabled their overall cache for my domain because I do a lot of design work and need to see changes in real-time. Is there anything that could be causing it?

    I don’t notice anything wrong on your site right now. I’m not sure why your own visits would be counted. At this point, would you mind contacting us using the form I posted earlier, and mention this thread? I’d like to run more tests with you on your site.

    Hi Jeremy, of course, thanks for looking into this. I’ll keep an eye out for a couple of days as I’ve made a fair few changes to the site recently and if it’s still happening I’ll get in touch with support directly and link to the thread. Thanks again!
