    WORDPRESS_VERSION: 4.6
    JETPACK__VERSION: 4.2.2

    Jetpack / Automattic Hello:

I disconnected Jetpack (was working OK) – and now cannot re-connect.

I deleted and re-installed Jetpack – still will not connect.

My SSL certificate is OK – tested.

Jetpack could not contact WordPress.com: register_http_request_failed. This usually means something is incorrectly configured on your web host.
cURL error 28: Operation timed out after 1000 milliseconds with 0 bytes received

    Could not validate security token

have tried, but did not help:

    define( ‘JETPACK_SIGNATURE__HTTPS_PORT’, 80 );
    or
    $_SERVER[‘SERVER_PORT’] = 443;

/xmlrpc.php: XML-RPC server accepts POST requests only.

I have uploaded my debug file here for you:
    https://pasadero100.com/jetpack-debug.pdf

As mentioned, was working OK in the past, until I decided to disconnect and re-connect.

I have *deleted and re-installed* the Jetpack plugin – still will not connect

I have de-activated all other plugins

    thanks – GARRY, USA

    p.s.

I noticed in the uploaded debug file:

    TEST RESULTS:

    HTTP: PASS
    HTTPS: PASS
    IDENTITY_CRISIS: PASS
    SELF: FAIL

…. what is the SELF test?

I have uploaded my debug file here for you:
    https://pasadero100.com/jetpack-debug.pdf

I would strongly recommend that you delete that file right away, as it contains private information about your site.

    what is the SELF test?

The SELF test refers to the ability of your site’s XML-RPC file to accept incoming connections from third-party services (like WordPress.com).

Do you use any security plugins or services that may restrict access to your site in any way? If so, could you try to deactivate those plugins, one at a time, and let me know if you find a conflicting plugin?

    Thanks!

    Jeremy hello:

    Thanks for your reply.

    Have tried:
    define( ‘JETPACK_CLIENT__HTTPS’, ‘NEVER’ );

    with and without:
    define( ‘JETPACK_SIGNATURE__HTTPS_PORT’, 80 );

    Still will not work:

Jetpack could not contact WordPress.com: register_http_request_failed. This usually means something is incorrectly configured on your web host. cURL error 28: Operation timed out after 1000 milliseconds with 0 bytes received

Have deleted, and re-installed new Jetpack plugin (v4.3) – twice

    Have disabled other plugins.

Have checked .htacess to confirm nothing being blocked.

After deleting Jetpack, I notice still hundreds of references to Jetpack in my SQL tables (wp_options)… anything I should manually delete/edit, to try to get this to be a clean new install of the plugin. I can send you a PHPmyAdmin screenshot of this old Jetpack data.

Jetpack was working in the past on this WP site, until I disconnected and attempted to reconnect. I did move my WP install, and add SSL, without ever disconnecting Jetpack. All continued to work fine, until I disconnected and attempted to reconnect.

I do not see any error on my host server logs.

I have gone through all the Jetpack trouble shooting steps (3 times) — and FAQ’s here
    https://jetpack.com/support/hosting-faq/

    My SSL certificate appears OK

My WP / PHP environment appears OK. On Linux shared hosting, with Jetpack working OK on other accounts with this hosting company (hostgator).

Everything was OK on this WP install (Jetpack Publicize, and more…) until I disconnected and attempted to reconnect.

    thanks, GARRY – USA

    Hello again:

    Jeremy hello again:

Please see some wp_options table entries (phpmysql screenshots) that reference jetpack, *after* I delete the plugin.

Removing the plugin does not remove these database rows.

Could some of these persistent entries be causing an issue, upon re-intsall?

    Hi,

I have the exact same issue. I deactivated Jetpack and could not re-connect.

@gsh2000 None of the existing options should cause issues.

I did, however, make note of it, as we will need to make sure those options are deleted when the plugin is deleted.

I did move my WP install, and add SSL, without ever disconnecting Jetpack. All continued to work fine, until I disconnected and attempted to reconnect.

Could you tell me more about your HTTPS setup? What are your URL settings under Settings > General in your dashboard?
Do you use a plugin or service to manage the certificate and its configuration for you?

@alan123 @digtialv Could you both use Jetpack’s Debugger module to send us some more information about your sites?

    1) Go to the Jetpack page in your dashboard.
    2) Click on the Debug link appearing at the bottom of the page.
    3) Click the link that says “click here to contact Jetpack support.”
    4) Fill in the description box and your name and email address.
    5) Click the “Contact Support” button.

    Thanks!

That B grade might be an issue. would you mind following the instructions I posted above to send us the debug results? I think it would be useful if we could run some more tests with you on your site.

    Thanks!

I did…I received an email with all the debug info
    Thanks,

Exactly the same issue for me.

@beaumontdvd Could you follow the instructions I posted above to contact us?

@alan123 If you’ve contacted us, we should reply very soon!

    Hi Jeremy,

I host my sont through wpengine.

Everything was working fine until I updated the WP to 4.6.1 and had to disable to Jetpack plugin to update the plugin as well.

Since the Update I am not being able to connect to Jetpack it is giving me the same Error.

I tried to go to the Debug page and it is giving me the following message “It looks like your site cannot communicate properly with jetpack” and it does not let me connect to support.

    The SSL grade is A.

These are some other “error”:”Communication error”,”error_description”:”We were unable to make an XML-RPC request to your website. Please make sure that XML-RPC is turned on and that Jetpack is installed, activated and connected with your WordPress.com account.”

I checked the XML-RPC and it is turned on.

    Thank you for your support.

    Hi Jeremy (@jeherve)

First of all thank you for your reply and support.

I tried to follow the steps you mentioned So when I clicked on the Debug link it tool me to the “Jetpack Debugging Center” and the bellow message was displayed.

I wasn’t able to find a link which said “click here to contact jetpack support” to fill in my info and contact support.

in the Error Box I saw the error.

1- “error”:”Could not validate security token”,”error_description”:”We were unable to validate a security token for Jetpack communication. Please try disconnecting Jetpack from your WordPress.com account, and connecting it again.”

    ———————
Testing your site’s compatibility with Jetpack…

There seems to be a problem with your site’s ability to communicate with Jetpack!

    Trouble with Jetpack?

It may be caused by one of these issues, which you can diagnose yourself:

A known issue. Some themes and plugins have known conflicts with Jetpack – check the list. (You can also browse the Jetpack support pages or Jetpack support forum to see if others have experienced and solved the problem.)
An incompatible plugin. Find out by disabling all plugins except Jetpack. If the problem persists, it’s not a plugin issue. If the problem is solved, turn your plugins on one by one until the problem pops up again – there’s the culprit! Let us know, and we’ll try to help.
A theme conflict. If your problem isn’t known or caused by a plugin, try activating Twenty Sixteen (the default WordPress theme). If this solves the problem, something in your theme is probably broken – let the theme’s author know.
A problem with your XMLRPC file. Load your XMLRPC file. It should say “XML-RPC server accepts POST requests only.” on a line by itself.
    – If it’s not by itself, a theme or plugin is displaying extra characters. Try steps 2 and 3.
    – If you get a 404 message, contact your web host. Their security may block XMLRPC.

    Thank you

    Nerses
