Site stats etc seem to work ok and are connected… images esp icons in server emails etc give the ! point… site health keeps saying jetpack connection issues altho I am connected…can’t seem to find a way to cure this… don’t want to shut off my mod_security module… and xmlrpc.php is set to 644 read permissions only too… very frustrating… Jetpack is always a problem… may have to dump it..

    412 Error

Your request got filtered out due to possible security issues.

One or more things in your request were suspicious (defective request header, invalid cookies, bad parameters)

If you think you did nothing wrong:

try again with a different browser
avoid any evil characters inside the request url

If you are the owner of the website, you can consider revising the rules of the mod_security module or turning it off from your Web Hosting Control Panel.

In order to work properly, Jetpack needs to be able to connect to your site via XML-RPC. Right now if you have a look at your site’s XML-RPC here:
    https://www.riverwoodspethospital.com/xmlrpc.php

You will notice that there is a warning that this file has been blocked by Mod_Security.

I would suggest contacting your hosting provider and asking them to help you disable this block so that your XML-RPC will look like this:

    https://jetpack.com/xmlrpc.php

Unfortunately, blocking XML-RPC is not a great solution for fighting security risks. It’s akin to selling your car because you don’t want it to be stolen.

Your site’s XML-RPC file is kind of like a communication gateway to your site. Jetpack, the WordPress Mobile Apps, and other plugins and services will use this file to communicate to your site. If this is blocked, you will have other issues pop-up down the road for the same reasons.

I would suggest contacting your hosting provider and asking them to unblock your site’s XML-RPC. The most popular hosting providers out there have managed to find other ways to protect their servers without having to hinder your site and your ability to use services with your WordPress.
