• During update of Jetpack my internet connnection broke down. When on-line again Jetpack was no longer on my plugin-list. When I tried to download Jetpack again, it was rejected. Reject-info says that the reason is that there is a file on my host, which prevents download. WP-support site explains that I must find the file in the root and base.

How do I find the root/base – or are there other ways to get Jetpack back to life?

I am a novice when it comes to coding and “backend” – but pretty confident as a user.

I thank you in advance and look forward to hear from somebody ??

    Kind regards

  • Hey,

As you said that earlier you tried to install Jetpack Plugin but you lost your internet connection in the middle of the installation so in your WordPress installed folder there is a Jetpack plugin folder has been created so you have to delete that folder and again try to Install Jetpack.
You have to access your Cpanel or FTP Manager to delete the plugin folder.

    – Login to your FTP
    – Go to File Manager.
    – Click on your WordPress Installed folder (Hopefully WordPress is installed in Public_html).
    – Open wp-content folder.
    – Now there you will see a folder named plugins, open it.
    – Search for Jetpack folder and delete the folder.
    – Now move to your WordPress dashboard and refresh the page and now try to install Jetpack again.

Let me know if this helps.

    Thank You

I currently have the same issue. After installing the latest version of Jetpack, my site no longer appeared normal like before.

For example, i used to have an option for users to enable “follow up comment by email” and subscription, they all disappeared. Please help!
