Jetpack Carousel displaying low res / low quality images

WP: 4.1.1
Jetpack: 3.3.2
Divi theme: 2.3.1
(all up to date)

The bug discussed here:

is happening on my site: https://tecset.com.au/~mcgourtys/bookings/

Notice it’s only happening to those images with 900×600 or similar at the end of the filename.

The threads above are both quite old. One mentions, two years ago, that this was fixed in 2.1.2, and came back in 2.2.3.

I manage over 50 sites, and name image files like this as best practice for large sites with lots of photos. The current “fix” is to rename all the images and remove the pixel dimensions from the filenames. This would be super painful for me with so many changes to make. Is there another was to do this? It was fixed for a time – has something been forgotten in a recent update that could be fixed up again?
