    Hi,

My Jetpack Boost does not seem to be working anymore. I tried to speed up my site and improve my LCP score, as it was around 8 sec, by using WP3 Cache settings as well as Boost, but it did not help. I’ve now turned off all the WP3 minify settings and reverted back to just using Boost. Now I’m getting messages from SEMRush that I have a lot of pages with uncompressed JS and CSS files.

I’ve cleared the site cache, made sure the Concatenate JS and Concatenate CSS options are on and regenerated the critical CSS files a few times but I still get the same warnings from SEMRush.

    Can someone please advise.

    Many thanks.

    Hi @clivedav,

First, please confirm that Jetpack Boost’s minification and defer non-essential JavaScript option is also enabled, as these will further optimize your files.

Second, while enabling the “Concatenate JS” and “Concatenate CSS” features in Jetpack Boost is a good start, it’s crucial to specify the JS and CSS strings that need to be concatenated. This is because Boost needs to know which files to combine into a single file to reduce the number of HTTP requests and improve load times. When enabled, an option to exclude specific JavaScript strings becomes accessible. Click on this option, enter the JavaScript scripts you wish to exclude in the provided field, and then click?Save. Simiar for CSS.

To do this, you should provide a list of the JS and CSS strings that you want to concatenate in the respective settings within Jetpack Boost. By specifying these strings, you ensure that Boost combines them as intended, optimizing your website’s performance and addressing the SEMRush warnings about uncompressed JS and CSS files.

Let us know if this helps.

    Hi Alin,

Thank you for your message. Unfortunately I’m not technical enough to know which scripts to exclude so have just turned these options off and regenerated the Critical CSS. This helped and moved my JetPack Boost Overall scores up by 10% for mobile and desktop.

    Thanks,

    Clive

    Keep up the great work!

I just had and issue in which the links and my variable attribute products stopped working on my Divi Theme site. By disabling the JS Concatenate feature of JetPack Boost, seemed to fix these issues.

    Hi @kartmanco,

The issue you experienced likely arose from script conflicts when the JS Concatenate feature in Jetpack Boost combined your scripts, affecting the functionality of your Divi Theme site. Disabling this feature can prevent such conflicts by keeping scripts separate.

If you’re looking for further assistance or run into more issues, feel free to open a new support thread.

    Best regards!
