Jetpack Boost gives “D” score; GT Metrix gives “A” score

Different testing tools are likely to give different scores.

Since Jetpack Boost uses the Google PageSpeed API, you’ll probably get a more accurate comparison from Google’s own tool:

Testing your site there, it gives a score of 17/100, so it looks like there is definitely room for improvement.

Did the score improve when you enabled all of the Boost options, compared to when they were all disabled?

The top suggestion from Google is to remove unused JavaScript, which would be a case of deleting any unused plugins/themes from your site. If you’re using them all, you may want to try disabling all plugins to get a baseline score, and then testing after enabling each plugin, to see which ones are slowing things down.

Thank you for your response. It goes up from 15 (Mobile) and 46 (Desktop), to 17 and 61 when I enable all of the boost options.

I took your advice (which I appreciate). I disabled all of my plugins except Jetpack boost and my score was about a 17 and 61, which is the same as all of my plugins enabled.

My understanding is that means that the plugins aren’t materially slowing my site down.

Do you have any suggestions?

Thank you for responding to give us the baseline here, that is helpful. This does mean that there is likely something else outside the plugins causing an issue.

I do see that your site is loading Facebook and Twitter widgets when I look at the source. If you are not using those, I would suggest removing those widgets as the biggest area for improvement flagged by Google Insights is removing unnecessary JavaScript.
