Jetpack auto resizing gif causes "corruption" issue
-
First got to say I am loving the plugin, its really useful.
So the other day I decided to enable the module – Photon and while so far it has been working great it has came to my attention that it is working oddly for GIF images.
I wrote an article (I will not link to it from here, it currently has troll comments I got to remove) and embedded this image into the article.
https://snat.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2012/12/Whoops.gif
Now while that works fine, Jetpack has redirected the image (as expected) to
https://i1.wp.com/snat.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2012/12/Whoops.gif?resize=500%2C250
As you can see the resize bit is causing an issue as if you was to go to:
https://i1.wp.com/snat.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2012/12/Whoops.gif
It would work fine. I have no idea why Jetpack is resizing the image, even more so when it didn’t actually change the size of it.
