Jetpack 5.6.1’s Facebook & Twitter widgets don’t work in WordPress 4.9.1

    Mon. 01/01/2018 – Happy New Year. I’m concerned that since WP upgraded a few weeks ago, the two above-referenced widgets inside of Jetpack stopped working. Whereas I always got a feed, set for 3 posts each and a few basic setting adjustments, now it won’t work at all. I’m getting a link in each case, rather than the feed.

    In researching this problem, it was brought to my attention that JP had a glitch in this case. Also, I read somewhere that FB would block the widget unless your site / page was completely ‘public,’ which I thought it was. While following directions given for previous iterations of each program, they worked for a minute, then the site returned to not showing a normal feed.

    I haven’t found a decent plugin to replace JP at this point. Can you help?

    Hi there and Happy New Year!

    I tried replicating the same issue you have with the Facebook and Twitter widgets, but they look okay on my test site. I wonder if there’s any plugin conflict happening in your site at the moment.

    Can you please temporarily deactivate all your plugins and check if the problem gets fixes that way? If it works, then reactivate each plugin one-by-one to find out which one is causing problems.

    01/30/2018 – Stef, both the FB and TW widgets started working one day, after I’d added a couple of plugins as substitutes. None worked as well…

    So, right now they’re working fine without any further changes to my site. Let’s just call it Divine Intervention, and thanks for your help.

    My Facebook and Instagram feeds aren’t going through. My twitter feed is fine. I’ve tried every trick I know, but the feeds just won’t show up. Can you help?
