    Jetpack Mechanic ??

If you cannot access the XML-RPC file in your browser, it might be blocked by a security plugin, or by a firewall on your server.

It could also be that the file is missing from your WordPress installation. Could you check at the root of your WordPress directory to make sure that /xmlrpc.php is there?

Hi Jeremy, After days of trying everything – the simple statement of making sure its in the ‘root directory’ did the trick – its a new install of wordpress and the file was in ‘includes’. Now all sorted and connected

    Many thanks in advance.

    Thanks for the pointer.
The file had been renamed to xmlrpc.bak in my install.
Possibly because of a WordPress update or a Jetpack update?
Renaming to xmlrpc.php resolved the issue.
    Much appreciated Jeremy
