[Jetpack 4.3] Error: Cookie nonce is invalid

    Hi,

    I’ve updated to Jetpack 4.3 and it shows the error message:

    “Recommended features failed to activate. Error: Cookie nonce is invalid”

    when I try to enable any jetpack features.

    I’ve tried the following troubleshooting steps:

    -Logging out and in again.
    -Clearing all my sites’ cookies and wordpress cookies as well.
    -Different browser with clean user profile, both Chrome and Firefox.
    -Disabling WP-Super-Cache
    -Disabling CloudFlare
    -Reinstalling Jetpack

    Is this possibly a bug with the new 4.3 update? Jetpack works fine under 4.2.2.
    What normally causes this error?

  • For me, it was the explanation that my theme was not using the new comment_form() function. It was using some older comment_template() function. I just replaced it, and it now works.

    Now, need to figure out how to style a few things in the Jetpack version of comments.

    @morespinach The list of comments itself is handled by your theme, not by Jetpack, so you’ll need to make changes there if you’re not happy with the display.

    Jumping in here: Where in the theme files would I do this, as I seem to have the same problem as MoreSpinach. Thanks!

    I’m having the same issue. I’m not too tech savvy but I tried to delete super cache which did not work. I recently updated all plugins and my version of wordpress. The extra sidebar widget modules did show up but the image module does not work. After trying unsuccessfully to use it, it will also disappear from the list. The twitter module works fine, however. Trying to ensure a safe install of the jetpack recommended features without incurring the error message:

    “Recommended features failed to activate. Error: Cookie nonce is invalid” which comes up each time.

    Can you help?
